Jo McKay has been hairdressing for over 30 years and specialises in hair colour. Jo worked at Aveda as a Hair Colour Specialist for UK / EMEA and looked after 15 countries in the development of hair colour in the UK / EMA regions. Jo played a key role in the creation of Aveda Global Collections which set the trends for the season, travelling around the world to teach classes and to participate in shows and events. Jo has played an important role in Aveda’s expansion strategy launching and supporting new markets with Aveda colour, and working with Colour Educators on skills building and development. Jo worked with Estee-Lauder, Aveda as the Advanced Creative Director for Colour at the Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Spa in London, the Estee-Lauder flagship salon.
Jo is currently the Keune UK Master Colour Ambassador in the Flagship salon in Central London. Jo develops training for the Academy delivering Technical Education and Social media trainings. Supporting salons in Education to support the development of salon business.
With a love of photography and film, Jo works on her own collections and has done work for magazines, short films, theatre and has her work published in magazines.
Jo was a Hair Colour Consultant offering bespoke tailor-made colour trainings to suit the individual or team, offering one on one or team trainings for specific skill development. She supports salons in their Hair colour business offering motivational, inspirational and technical skill building.
Offering support with shows events and social media photo shoots Jo offers advice and expertise on how to do a photo shoot and get the best hair colour image. Jo also has a passion in developing individuals to work on their own personal goals in doing shows and events
